Information last updated:

Linda Kay (Clement) Torr, 63, of Irvine, Calif., died in her sleep Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at her home in Irvine, Calif., surrounded by her loving husband, Tony, and her niece, Marsha Kramer.

She was born Jan. 7, 1950, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, daughter of Hershel and Lois (Foe) Clement.

Linda is survived by her husband, Tony Torr of Irvine, Calif.; a brother, David Clement and his family from Evergreen Colo.; a nephew, Gary Adams of St. Louis; a niece, Marsha Kramer of St. Louis; cousins, Gene and Don Clement of Indianapolis, Ind., and Donna (Green) Stanford of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Doris Elaine (Clement) Adams.

Linda grew up on her family’s farm near Walnut Hill. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1968 and from Southern Illinois University 1972. Following college, she moved to Bellevue, Wash., where she lived with the family of her brother, David Clement. She later moved to California where she continued to live until her death.

Linda met Tony at a tennis club and they both continued to be avid tennis players. Tony, a retired American Airlines captain, introduced Linda to boating. They even lived on a boat in Newport Harbor for several years. Tony also introduced Linda to golf and she became an avid golfer as well. Linda and Tony made many friends through these activities. Her brother, David, often said, “There are two things I never expected my sister to do. One was live on a boat. The other was learning to play golf.”

One of Linda’s passions was the Adoption Guild of Southern Orange County, Calif. She served in various capacities to help raise funds for the organization.

Cremation was chosen and no services planned.
